Comet McNaught, the sequel (C/2009 R1), is now visible before dawn in Perseus. Last night it was just north of the star 27 Kappa Persei. They were still saying only a couple days before that there's no tail visible in binoculars. But I was able to see something of a tail close to the coma last night, in Reno skies, with 10x50's. It's not near so striking a comet as the 1st Comet McNaught was in 2007... yet. It's still brightening, but is going to get harder to see very far above the horizon as it does. So, get out and check it out now, y'all.
