At our star parties, many members experiment with creating afocal images, but what exactly is afocal imaging?
You can create afocal images by placing your camera over the eyepieces of a telescope. In this way, the camera creates a lasting image of what would otherwise be a fleeting observation. Afocal photography is what allows astronomers to share the telescope's projections.
If you don't have a telescope, you should come to one of the ASN's monthly star parties where members who own telescopes are egar to share them with others.
